1920s – The Flapper
There was not really much in common between the Gibson Girl and the It-girl of the roaring 20s. The flapper sported short hair, and there was no corset in her closet. The hourglass figure was no longer hip, as was the dramatic updo. When the 19th Amendment was ratified, after almost a century of protesting and fighting for this right, women were finally granted the right to vote! Fashion changed after this political upheaval.
