Their Activities
The Stooges maintained their presence in the 1960s through film, television, and a highly successful live tour. At the end of the decade, however, old age had begun to catch up with them, rendering their signature slapstick antics impossible. The group made an effort to modernize their act toward the end of the decade. They shot the test episode for a travelogue/comedy show concept they’re calling Kook’s Tour. The “retired” Stooges would have traveled to various real-world locations in this hypothetical series. But disaster struck during filming…
His Final Days
Larry Fine had a massive stroke that left him paralyzed shortly before the 1969 pilot for Kook’s Tour was completed. It was a sad fate for someone who enjoyed dancing, but Fine would have to spend the next five years confined to a wheelchair. Late in 1974, Fine had several more strokes, and he passed away in January of 1975.
