Sole Oscar Nomination
Despite appearing in 220 movies, “The Three Stooges” were only nominated for one Oscar. They received a nomination for Best Short Subject – Comedy for their 1934 short film Men In Black. It was defeated by the Kenneth Macgowan-produced movie La Cucaracha. In 2004, a colorized version of the Stooges movie was made available. Although the gifted guys did not win the trophy, they nevertheless managed to distinguish themselves in other ways.
Married To Magic
On June 7, 1925, Moe Howard wed Helen Schonberger. Harry Houdini, a famous magician famed for feats like the milk can escape, was related to Helen Schonberger. Joan and Paul Howard, the couple’s two children, were born to them. Joan continues to go to Stooges gatherings across the nation. It’s obvious that there was magic in Helen and Moe’s union. It is unknown if that was connected to Helen’s well-known cousin.
