In honor of Larry Fine, who was born in Philadelphia, a memorial mural was created at the intersection of Third and South Streets. It is located over the Jon’s Bar and Grill restaurant. Sister of Fine was present for the dedication ceremony. In the artwork, Fine can be seen smiling broadly as he plays his violin. Many people recall Larry Fine in this way. He always wore that insane expression, and audiences adored him for it.

Many of the Stooges’ catchphrases were invented by Curly Howard. “Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk,” “nyahh-ahhh-ahhh,” “a WISE guy, eh?” “say a few syllables,” “oh, look,” “I’ll moider you,” and “soitenly” were some of them. Even after Curly passed away, the other Stooges continued to use his catchphrases; you may have even used some of them without knowing that Curly originated them. His humor is now used frequently in conversation.
