The protagonist, Sonny Koufax, played by Adam Sandler, is a naive young man who, in an effort to demonstrate his maturity to a former fiancée, decides to adopt a young son. The role of the youngster in question was taken on by Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who are identical twins.
