The Melting Process Is Intensifying
Consider the Italian Alps’ Forni glacier. It has melted more than a mile in the last century, according to the Guardian. The fact that the process is speeding up makes it much more concerning. In the last thirty years or so, half of that has happened. The ice melting has caused numerous issues.
It Also Led To Accidents
Bystanders witnessed the melting glacier produce the Val Pola landslide, which claimed the lives of dozens of people in this part of the Italian Alps in 1987. Climate change has also had an impact on the region’s flora and fauna, according to experts. The National Park’s Luca Pedrotti told the Guardian more about it.
