Athletes are prone to embarrassment because they are constantly judged against their peers. And if those other athletes don’t make a mistake and you do, you’ll look even more ridiculous. Only if everyone else does the same is it acceptable!

As a result, being the only athlete to have a disastrous performance does not bode well for this track runner’s public image. No way to come back and catch up for a win doesn’t help either.
Not so Synchronized
Adorable athletes are more amusing than anything else, we’ve made it clear. Synchronized swimming is a natural fit because it is designed to be graceful by design. A far better example of a comical image than one that could be described as graceful.
