Duke Snider – 1949 Bowman

While we have already talked about rookie cards for Mickey Mantle and Willie May, we had to mention the Duke of Flatbush. Towards the end of the ’40s and ’50s, Edwin Snider, nicknamed Duke, was the center fielder for the Dodgers. He was second to Jackie Robinson, and his rookie card came out in the 1949 series made by Bowman. If you have a good copy it can go for around $232,750.

Andy Pafko – 1952 Topps

Even though Pafko is not honored in the Hall of Fame, it seems that a grade 10 copy of his card went for around $250,000. The card had no errors, so why such a high price? His card was listed as #1 in the famous 1952 set, making it extremely famous with collectors.
