Mind you; these are not regular locks. Asha Zulu Mandela holds the record for the longest dreadlocks in the world at 19.5 feet long. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, she relocated to New York City nearly three decades ago. Her hair weighs more than 25 pounds when it is wet. As you can imagine, her back has taken quite the toll from this. People like to call her “The Black Rapunzel.”
