Camden’s Promise
At the outset of the events, it was clear that Darreld’s health had a significant impact on Camden. The little boy was happy and satisfied once more, having regained his health and energy. He was able to unwind knowing that his father would now be with him for the long haul. Nancy would always be grateful to Camden, and he swore to her that he would be the best student ever. He had done everything he could to repay her, but the family had different plans.

Raising Awareness
Nancy and Darreld had talked about what they’d do to increase awareness about organ donation after they had both managed to recover. Because there aren’t enough options for those who need them, the University of Iowa Transplant Center was contacted. The media was present to show their support for the couple. The situation had gathered a lot of support at this point, and many folks were continuing to support both the family as well as the teacher.
