Mrs. Nabors was genuinely shocked to see a small puppy staring back at her when she opened the bag. The girl kept a wary eye on the teacher as he took the puppy out of the bag. Although a puppy does not necessarily pose an immediate threat to a person, it is possible that students with allergies will be present. Mrs. Nabors exhibited great restraint and consideration, especially when faced with something so adorable. Sadly, student safety takes precedence over this feeling, and she came up with a better way to explain things to the little girl.

Mrs. Nabors did not punish the girl for bringing a puppy into the house because she did not believe it would be effective. She dealt with the situation in a more diplomatic manner. The teacher showed compassion by allowing the puppy to be held and cuddled by the non-allergic students. It’s no surprise that all of the kids fell in love with him right away. The young student had no idea what she had done because she was too young to see the error. The girl brought the puppy to school so he wouldn’t be left alone all day. The teacher didn’t want to punish her because the idea was lovely, but she felt compelled to speak up.
