The Perfect Mascot

Mrs. Nabors had been unsuccessful in her search for a mascot for the upcoming book fair. Jake the puppy, she reasoned, would be the ideal candidate. She came up with the slogan “Paws For A Good Book,” which was a great fit and was well received by the kids. Jake was already well-liked by the kids and went above and beyond to make their day. Jake significantly improved the children’s mood.

Jake’s presence had instilled hope in some of the children. They didn’t realize it at the time, but they needed the puppy’s experience. A dog has the ability to make even the most depressed people laugh and temporarily forget their problems. Jake was not the first dog to represent the school, but he was far from the last. There have been others, such as Dottie, a service dog. Even if Jake considers himself Jefferson Elementary’s top dog, we hope he will share the spotlight.

The intro of the puppy had given many of the children hope. Unbeknownst to them, some of them needed practice playing with dogs as well as being around dogs in general. Dogs are incredible animals. They can bring joy, a smile, and help people forget about their current worries. Jake was the school’s first canine ambassador, but he was far from the only one. Others, such as Dottie the service dog, have appeared since then. Hopefully, Jake and Dottie will be able to share the title of Top Dog at the school.
