Disbelief
The Petersen family was taken aback. They were taken aback by Nancy’s proposal. Many people will not give a kidney to someone they didn’t know in the very first place. This was as unexpected as it could be. As the surgery date approached, the family paid Nancy a visit and brought her flowers to express their gratitude. Darreld, his immediate family, and his extended family had all been tested to see if they were compatible. They all came back negative, though. Despite Darreld’s despair, Nancy gave him one last chance.

Darreld, for one, was having second thoughts about the goal. It was a risky operation, and he was worried that something might go wrong. He was concerned, but Nancy was adamant about helping, and there was nothing he could say to persuade her otherwise. She intended to assist him.
