During an interview for the 2019 British documentary Kate v Meghan: Princesses at War?, the former royal aide described the Suits star as a “strong and independent woman.” Nonetheless, he doubted that someone from such a humble background could adapt to her current opulent surroundings.

Burrell stated, “Meghan has married into the most traditional family in the country: the royal family.” He continued, “How is she going to cope? Princess Diana was brought up in a house that was as big as Buckingham Palace, and even she was lost.” He said, drawing parallels with the woman he had served for a decade.
