Stretching Many Times
You may notice that your cat does more stretching than you do. Just like you, they do this after being inactive for some time in order to increase their blood pressure and get their blood flowing, to push out toxins and unhealthy substances in their muscles, and just to feel good. Since cats sleep a lot, they need to do a lot of stretching too. If they do it in front of you, it means they feel comfortable and safe and they trust you.
Landing On All Fours
Cats are well-known for being able to land on their feet when they fall. Since their spine includes extra vertebrae, they have a pretty flexible backbone which allows them to twist their body when they’re falling. In addition, they have light bones and bodies, an impressive sense of balance, and thick fur that help slow their fall. Amazingly, this behavior is ingrained in the genetic code of cats and they learn how to right themselves while they’re falling at just six to seven weeks old!
