Rocky Johnson
Although his son, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has leapfrogged him in the fame department, Rocky Johnson was the original professional wrestler in the family. Born in Canada, Rocky began his wrestling career in 1964, going on to win several National Wrestling Alliance titles. In 1983, alongside tag team partner Tony Atlas, the duo won the 1983 World Tag Team Championship, becoming the first black champions in World Wrestling Entertainment history. Johnson, believing he had the flu in early January 2020, ignoring a potential doctor’s visit, died of a pulmonary embolism.
