Even though this was good news, the popularity of the record and her award caused an uproar among fans. The publicity did not please her Quebecois fans. In light of this reaction, the French-Canadian artist decided to refuse the English Artist of the Year that she got during the Felix Awards.

Apparently, they did not plan on having her as they were already facing financial difficulty with 13 kids. However, fate had different plans. Sadly, she had to sleep in their cabinet drawer for the first few years of her life as they did not have any space available. She has certainly come a long way from then.
