Jazz Jennings’ story was originally told when she was a small child, no older than four or five years old. Jazz and her family were filmed for a TLC episode because she was so young when she was diagnosed with gender dysphoria and began the process of transitioning to female. Jazz was frequently discriminated against as a trans child as a result of all of this happening during her upbringing. Instead of keeping her journey private, Jennings became an even bigger champion for trans people as a result. She is currently in her early twenties, undergoing sex reassignment surgery, attending Harvard, and inspiring people all over the world.
