Mavis
One of the most inspiring and influential artists is Kay Bear Cosplay @kayyybear. She is a strong advocate of cosplay, open to everyone, regardless of gender, race, age, status, or other prejudiced norms, to express themselves freely in any character they choose. Unfortunately, some narrow-minded people criticized her for cosplaying characters outside her race. Kay received a ton of hate and negativity to portray Mavis from Hotel Transylvania. Still, kudos to Kay Bear Cosplay put those bigots in their place and continued to wow the internet.

In 2009, when her college friends invited her to attend Anime Expo, the famous cosplayer and gaming enthusiast Amie Lynn found her way into cosplay. She was big before cosplaying in Japanese pop culture, anime, video games, and various fandoms. Although she came up with her handle @misshabit as her Gamertag when she was obsessed with Metal Gear Online, Amie Lynn admits she’s not too happy to use it on social media. However, she decided to keep the name because it sounds true to everything she’s passionate about, like cosplay, video games, and anime, forming a habit.
