Villa Vals, Switzerland

Villa Vals is close to the well-known thermal springs of Vals and was built into a hillside to blend in with its natural surroundings and offer unhindered views of the local alpine scenery. The visitor must pass via a barn and an underground tunnel to get to the front door. Visitors to Therme Vals can rent the property, which was created by Christian Müller Architects and SeARCH and boasts a chic decor.

Malator House, UK

Malator House, sometimes referred to as the Teletubby house in the neighborhood, is fully underground, with only the front glass window revealing its location in a hill. Malator House, constructed in 1998 by Future Systems architects for Bob Marshall-Andrews QC, a Member of Parliament, is an example of how the landscape may be conserved via smart construction. The home is completely hidden from view from above since the top is entirely covered in local grasses and seamlessly merges into the landscape.
