Drop In Temperatures
The thick black clouds that are ultimately formed are able to block out all but a fraction of the Sun’s light for quite some time- as much as several weeks at a time. Surface temperatures would drop for a few weeks as a result. Leaving temperatures to as low as 11° to 22° C (20° to 40° F).
Things Could’ve Been Different
Thanks to the data that the scientists found on the structure of the 200 km wide crater in Mexico where they believed the asteroid hit, they believe that if perhaps this fatal asteroid had hit Earth at a slightly different angle, dinosaurs would still be around today. But is this information reliable for us to truly assume it correct?
