Something Old
The lace on Diana’s wedding dress was more than just old. It was really, really old. It was sourced from antique scraps bought at auctions by her dress designers. The fabrics were identified as Carrickmacross lace. This fabric dates all the way back to Queen Mary’s day.
Hidden Message
There was a secret romantic gesture hidden underneath Diana’s handcrafted wedding shoes. Since the top of the shoe featured an elaborate heart, it was fitting that on the sole, Diana had a custom “C” and “D” painted on by the shoemaker, Clive Shilton. He said, No one even saw the bottom of the shoes, but it was important to us that they looked fantastic. You would have seen much more of them if she’d tripped!”
