Who was Donald Trump before he won the presidential race and became the 45th President of the United States? He had been working as a real estate businessman, but we bet that you already knew that. Before that, he was just a young man from Queens. If we want to truly understand this man, it is a good idea to learn more about his grandpa who started the family fortune. He then passed on the torch to Fred, Donald’s’ dad. When it was time for Donald to take the reins, he expanded the family fortune some more! Let us find out who the POTUS is.
A Little Boy
Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod welcomed their fourth child Donald John Trump on June 14, 1946. The couple became man and wife a decade before this event. He entered the world in the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens. On his dad’s side, he had German ancestry. He had Scottish on his mom’s side. His grandpa Frederick moved to the United States in 1885 at the tender age of 16 and only got citizenship in 1892. He had been a great businessman and started the family fortune with his “boomtown” restaurants and boarding houses. Donald uploaded this photo of himself as a kid on Facebook as a throwback. He added a caption that read, “Who knew this innocent kid would grow into a monster?” In case you were confused by that statement, he was only trying to deliver a joke!
Siblings
The Trump family earned a lot of money with the success of Donald Trump’s grandpa. In 1902, he got married to Elisabeth Christ and they moved to New York in 1905. In the same year, Fred Trump was born. He was only 15 years old when he started to help out at the family business. In 1923, he and his mom started E. Trump & Son, which is a business operating in Brooklyn and Queens. In 1936, Fred got married to Mary Anne MacLeod. They went on to have five kids between them. Even as a young boy, Donald had a tendency to break the rules. This photo shows him with his siblings: Fred Jr, Elizabeth, Maryanne, and Robert.
