Martin Scorsese tried, and succeeded, to address one of the most challenging subjects facing filmmakers. A touchy subject to make a film about is the meaning of life and morality, but he did it properly. The film is about two Jesuit priests sneaking into Japan to discover that their mentor has renounced his faith. The camerawork is impeccable and the movie’s plot is really like no other.
