A New Chapter
If she wanted to make her dreams a reality, she was going to have to start over. Because of this, there was no other way to go about it but to look for opportunities outside of Alabama. In 2015, she embarked on a soul-searching quest before coming home to set her plan in motion. She had to move somewhere else to turn over a new leaf. It was a good thing that she received a job offer that pieced everything together. Katie moved to Denver, Colorado to join a company that dealt in commercial construction. She became the integrated service manager for the construction company, GE Johnson.

Katie could not help but feel good about the choice she made. This was the time for her to fix her life and move towards her goal. She paid for a 4-bedroom ‘fixer-upper’ place that required a little renovation. She wanted to do it on her own, however. “The house I bought would require extensive work to transform into my vision and most of which I would have to do myself in order to afford it,” she said. She also told a friend of hers that this house was meant for ‘more’. What did she mean by that?
