Paige Spiranac has been a golf player ever since she was young. It must not have come as a surprise to anyone when she decided to play the sport on the collegiate level at the San Diego State University.
While studying there, she took home the All-Mountain West Conference honors from 2012 to 2014! She also led the San Diego State University Aztecs to their first-ever Mountain West Conference title in women’s golf.
She became famous when she started posting trick shot videos on her Instagram account, but she now has since earned a bigger audience than she used to have. Yes, she is a social media personality as well.

Famous golf player Paige Spiranac was born to a family of Croatian descent on the 26th of March 1993. She might have been born in Wheat Ridge, but she was raised in another Colorado town called Monument.
In Monument, Paige Spiranac trained as a gymnast when she was a little girl. At the time, she dreamed of becoming an Olympic athlete. She skipped level 6 and got invited to go to the famous Karolyi Ranch.
She was 12 years old when her dreams of becoming an Olympic gymnast got derailed by her twice-broken kneecap. We are sure that it was not that easy for her to change gears after training so much.
There was one more factor that played into her decision. Sadly, Paige became the target of bullies when she was still undergoing gymnastics training. Truly, it is a sad reality that happens way too often
At the age of 12, Paige turned to golf instead. Because of her previous experience with other gymnasts, she took comfort and sanctuary in the isolation of this new sport. We are glad that it worked out for her!
In those days, the young girl had been splitting her time between two places: Monument, Colorado and Scottsdale, Arizona. Aside from this, she went to home school since the schedule gave her more time to train.
During the early days of her career, Paige Spiranac won 5 tournaments in 7 tries on the junior golf circuit in Colorado. This includes the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association Junior Stroke Playback in 2010.
We already told you that she played for the San Diego State University, but she actually went to another school for a while. Her impressive junior resume got her a scholarship from the University of Arizona!
In her freshman year, Paige only took part in 3 events for the Arizona Wildcats during the 2011-2012 season. Her best score that year was 73, which she reached twice during the Windy City Intercollegiate.
Change Of Environment
She chose to transfer to San Diego State University for her sophomore year. She did this because she wanted a change of environment. It was a good thing that this proved to be the right choice for her!
During the 2012-2013 season, Paige saw improved success. She got First-Team All-Mountain West honors, fifth-place honors at the Cal Classic, sixth-place honors at the Mountain West Championship, and a nineteenth finish at the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
Let us now find out how well she did during her junior year. It was yet another great year for the talented golfer! In the 2013–2014 season, she earned Second-Team All-Mountain West Honors.
A Bright Future
On top of this, she got a top ten finish during the Mountain West Championship. Not too shabby for someone new to the golf world. It looked like Paige was going to embark on a bright future.
With A Bang
It is impressive to hear that Paige Spiranac ended her college career with a bang. Her final season in college concluded with the first-ever Mountain West Conference Championship in the history of the San Diego State University Aztecs!

CWGA Match Play Championship

In 2015, Paige Spiranac got a lot of attention all of a sudden. The reason? Total Frat Move published an article that encouraged everyone to check her out online. Her Instagram following went from below 10,000 to 100,000 in only 2 days.
Paige Spiranac officially became a professional golfer in 2016. She competed in the CoBank Colorado Women’s Open and placed 9th at one-under-par. The honor in itself was already a prize on its own, but she was also able to bring home $1,750!
At the moment, Paige Spiranac has one win under her belt. She earned her first and only win thus far at Scottsdale’s Orange Tree Country Club. We highly recommend you keep an eye out for her because we are sure she will achieve more great things in the future.

She Received Death Threats
A few years back, Paige received phone calls and text messages from anonymous people bashing her outfits. They allegedly told her to kill herself because of her “tight, cleavage-baring outfits.” Paige said, “I was harassed, my family embarrassed.”
You may be surprised to hear this but, Paige Spiranac is camera shy. The golfer started her own Youtube channel to face her fear and express her thoughts publicly. Paige loves teaching others about golf but she hasn’t in the past because she doesn’t have the confidence.
Thanks to her large social media following, Paige works with anti-bullying groups such as CyberSmile. The golfer speaks out about low self-esteem and bullying to gain support for the cause. She speaks openly about her experience as a kid hoping to help at least 1 kid being bullied.
Golf Digest Contract
Golf Digest ended up offering Paige a contract, but not because of her skill as a golfer. They didn’t care that she’s never won a LPGA tournament, no, they cared about her look! Her outfits brought a lot of traffic to their website so they had her sign on the dotted line!

An Athletic Family
Paige comes from a family of athletes so it comes as no surprise that she inherited the genes. Her dad was a football player at the University of Pittsburgh where he won a NCAA championship. Her mom was also athletic: a professional ballerina! Her older sister Lexie was a sprinter at Stanford University. Quite the athletic clan!
She Faced Many Medical Issues
When Paige was young, she had a few medical issues. Paige has severe asthma and allergies and a hair condition. These problems hindered her athletic performance and also led to bullying.

A Role Model
Paige’s goal is to be a role model for young women across the world. She wants women to feel welcome in the sport and wants to get more ladies to join the male-dominated sport. It is a sport mainly played by white males and she hopes to change that.
