Lucille Ball
The 50s were partly dominated by a sitcom named I Love Lucy, in which Lucille Ball was the leading actor. Then there was The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour which concluded during the 60s. Finally, the 20th century’s television audiences were treated to The Lucy Show which carried on until 1974.
Then there as another Lucy-themed show called Here’s Lucy, and at this stage, Ball desperately needed some personal time. Her exhaustion from decades of ceaseless acting put her in hospital where she had to have surgery, albeit successfully. However, Ball tragically passed away in 1989 when she collapsed unexpectedly.
Dawn Wells
Dawn Wells is probably best known from her role as the castaway, Mary Ann Summers, in Gilligan’s Island, a role which she reprised a number of times for different projects. Dawn continued to act after the show finished, and even joined a musical theatre group for a while. Dawn released a memoir in 2014 called ‘What Would Mary Ann Do? A Guide to Life’, and she started a role with METV network as a marketing ambassador in 2016.
