Although she had done some acting before, Elizabeth Hurley actually first got exposed to public attention as Hugh Grant’s girlfriend, who was getting a lot of attention after the success of his 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral. At the premiere of the film, she wore a plunging black dress made by Versace held together by gold safety pins. A year later she was introduced as Estée Lauder’s spokesmodel, beginning her modeling career at 29. She also went into acting with her most famous performance in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, earning herself an award for best supporting actress.
