Barbara Parkins
Canadian Barbara Parkins moved to Los Angeles when she was just 16 years old in an attempt to make it in show business. She began working for some major stars as a backup dancer and singer in different nightclubs until she landed her debut role in 1961 in a low-budget crime film called 20,000 Eyes. She is best known for starring alongside Sharon Tate in Roman Polanski’s The Valley of the Dolls, as well as for her work as Betty Anderson in Peyton Place, for which she also received a Grammy nomination.
Julie Ege
Julie Ege is the Norwegian beauty who began working as a model when she was just 15 years old, and in 1962 came second when she competed in the Miss Norway pageant when she was 18 years old. Subsequently, Ege participated in the Miss Universe competition, after which she moved to England to work as an au pair while improving her English skills. She appeared in many British films during the 1960s and 70s, with her most popular role in the comedy Pompeii in 1971. She moved back to Oslo sometime in the early 1990s when she studied to become a nurse. She died of breast cancer in 2008.
