It Was A Very Stressful Situation
The rescue personnel had already worked with other animals in upsetting circumstances in the past. This was even more stressful than they were used to do. They had no idea what to do because Sheila seemed to have given up. Sheila, after showing a lack of energy and exhaustion, stopped moving. It was clear that she was deteriorating and even threw up the food that she was fed. They did not know what else to do.
Her Life Was Not Easy
It was a huge struggle for the In-Sync team. They tried everything they could think of, but their efforts bore no fruit. They started to consider the advice of the USDA to euthanize Sheila a few weeks after she was taken there. It was not easy to think of this, but it was starting to look like the kindest fate for her.
