He began playing at the age of 15 and was drafted by various minor league clubs in the United States. He later returned to China to play for the Beijing Ducks. Sun and his wife are also listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s tallest couple.

He was once included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the heaviest athlete alive. Emmanuel stood 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighed 882 pounds at the height of his sumo wrestling career. Emmanuel was able to lose weight after joining MMA and mastering Judo. Emmanuel also briefly played football and competed in professional wrestling in Germany. In 2015, he passed away.
