Not Easy At All
The fact that you believed that diving beneath the Antarctic was simple is incorrect. For starters, scientists needed to decide out where they were going to take the fall. After much deliberation, they opted for a place known as “Iceberg Alley.” It is not by chance that the location was given this designation.
In The Antarctic
The alley forms a waterway adjacent to one of the most northern points on the Antarctic Peninsula, which is where the alley is named after. The stretch of the sea is bordered by icebergs that are constantly moving. There are parts that are roughly the size of a car, but there are also portions that are half a square mile in size. It was a major undertaking just to bring the boat with the submersible to the right location.
