In 80 games last season, the 21-year-old averaged 15 points per game, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per 36 minutes. Those figures are his justification for commencing. Derrick Favors would benefit from escaping Rudy Gobert’s intimidating shadow and joining the fast-paced New Orleans Pelicans. The 28-year-old might reach a new level and average a double-double for the first time with a lineup that includes rookie Zion Williamson, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, and Lonzo Ball. However, it is on defense that he and Williamson can thrive as a top rim-protection duo. Favors is also returning to his usual center position with New Orleans.
