Bank of England Vaults – London, England

Bank of England is as relevant as it sounds. It has one of the world’s largest gold reserves, alongside the British pound. Built-in the 1930s, the gold vault has over 400,000 bars. It may no longer be the primary monetary type, but those gold bars are so rare that in 2012 Queen Elizabeth had a private vault tour. (Each bar weighs 28 pounds.)

Moscow Metro-2 – Russia

The Soviets were notorious for their secrecy, but it’s not clear whether Joseph Stalin constructed a secret metro line, nicknamed Metro-2. The line allegedly started sometime before World War II, and other lines were added before Stalin’s death in 1953. The lines were supposed to transport state and weapons, but as of today, the Metro-2 is still an urban legend. This photograph is an alleged snap of a tunnel.
