Will They Adjust?
Of course, amongst a large number of people who saw David’s viral post, were some fellow bee whisperers! Because of this, he was able to communicate with them and find new techniques on how to rehome the bees since they didn’t have a queen. Since the bees were living in a cramped and dark space for so long, David decided he should move them to a giant vertical hive and act as their beekeeper until they were acclimated. He kept his fingers crossed that the bees would make honey so he could sell it, too. Would he be able to help them?
Replacing The Queen
Since bees are so reliant on their queen for nearly everything they do, including making honey, David knew he needed to find this hive a new queen. He would take a queen from one of his other hives and hope the bees in this hive would accept her. Bees in a community can reject a new queen, so David really hoped this wouldn’t be the case. Whether they like the new queen or not would determine the entire fate of the hive.
