Chopper Differences
Military kids can differentiate between helicopters easily, but non-military children will just refer to the flying thing as a helicopter. “Son, is it a Chinook, an Apache, or a Blackhawk?” Military children always know the answer.

For soldiers, deployment can be a number of weeks, months, or years away from their loved ones. They have gotten so used to being away for long periods that time passes in a second for them. Do not get too surprised if a person says they felt as though they were gone only hours instead of months.
