She ended up becoming the first non-white woman actress to star in a television program. We are talking about none other than the sitcom Julie. She was amazing in the leading role! Over the course of her career, she garnered numerous awards and accolades. Back in the ’90s, she fought a battle with breast cancer and survived to tell the tale. Now retired, her final acting credit was for a TV show in 2014.
