Move forward to 1976, and another timeless hit song was born. As Clapton and Boyd were getting ready to go to Paul and Linda McCartney’s Buddy Holly tribute party one evening, it appeared like Clapton was waiting for Boyd to get ready. He was, however, creating a song that would go on to become a big success.
