Before she was taken to the shelter, she belonged to a backyard breeder. However, that person gave her up when they realized that it was going to be hard and expensive to look after her and the puppies. They then brought her to a shelter!

The couple knew that it was the right decision to provide the dog with love, comfort, and somewhere to give birth to the puppies in her womb. They could not just leave her at this shelter in such a state.
