After earning her degree at Mississippi State University, she started to work for KXTV Sacramento, KPHO Phoenix, WSVN Miami, and WPLG in Fort Lauderdale, Miami. Aside from the ones mentioned, she also appeared on World News and Good morning America. In 2012, she was caught in a controversy when she transferred to WPLG even before her contract ended with WSVN.
