The Escape
He said, “I ran out the back door — toward the sound of that whistle. And that was the first place I ever escaped from,” but it was not the last. Walter had managed to pull off a major crime, a prison escape of some sort.
Making His Way To The Tracks
Walter headed to the train tracks and did what he had wanted to do for a long time: he followed them in order to see where they led. He would eventually journey north on the tracks, coming from North Carolina to Washington, D.C.
