In Alaska, officials say 72,029 retirees were collecting benefits in 2018 that averaged $1,400.70 a month, totaling in $16,808.40 a year. Like every resident of Alaska, a retiree also gets an annual payment from the state’s oil-wealth fund. In 2019, the amount is $1,606.
