The actor was not permitted to do some other ventures whilst also shooting Magnum, P.I. That must have been incredibly difficult for the actor whose demand was always high then. In fact, he had to reverse the lead character in Raiders of the Lost Ark because of the clashes! But here is the bad part: if he did know that the author’s protest would take place, he could and should have done it.

Throughout 1982, he had been contacted by the Victor / Victoria film crew. He was kind of afraid to step into the role, but ultimately decided to work on the project. Unfortunately, by then it was too late seeing as Magnum already had began its production.
