The frontman and creator of The Miracles band were Smokey Robinson, and he was their chief producer and songwriter. He headed the party from 1955 to 1972, when he retired. He returned as a solo musician after retiring from the band. In 1990, he left Motown Records and composed a lot of music, like other Motown members. Fun fact: the nickname of his uncle, to whom he was similar. He was called “Smokey Joe” by his uncle as a “cowboy name,” thus he was stuck with that name all his life.

Kenny Gamble – $8.5 million
Greatest Hits: I’m Gonna Make You Love Me
Kenny Gamble was born in Philly and has been credited with developing the Philly soul genre. He recorded himself on arcade recording machines as a child, and his love of music increased. He formed the Gamble & Huff band and was managed by Jerry Ross, who had a long relationship with him. He is renowned for his “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” hit and “Expressway to Your Heart,” covered in 1967 by the Soul Survivors band for commercial success.
