When a member of the crew gets psychic talents, he goes insane from the sheer amount of power he has. While Kirk is engaged in combat with him, we get a clear glimpse of the Captain’s gravestone, which is marked with a “R.” Only diehard fans, on the other hand, would notice and be irritated by this.
