The following one caused a lot of consternation among fans. While the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation was low-budget and full of blunders with the cast and equipment, by the time The Next Generation premiered, such flaws should have been reduced to a bare minimum. Although a crew member’s face can be seen in the crystal so clearly in Unification II that the individual may be identified as boom operator Bill Gocke, this is not the case in Unification I.

Everyone knows it’s James T. Kirk – the T referring to Tiberius – who’s speaking. However, in season 1, episode 3, “Where no man has gone before,” there is a conspicuous omission from the script. When a member of the crew gets psychic talents, he goes insane from the sheer amount of power he has. While Kirk is engaged in combat with him, we get a clear glimpse of the Captain’s gravestone, which is marked with a “R.” Only diehard fans, on the other hand, would notice and be irritated by this. However, in the following scene, it is the actor who is the most embarrassed by the fact that it exists…
