Rhode Island is the smallest state in America, however beautiful Debra Messing made her home state seem much bigger than it is- all thanks to her tremendous personality. Back in 1986, she was crowned Miss Junior Rhode Island, which was her initial launching pad towards in her brilliant acting career, as we know it today. Messing was just 18 years old when she headed off to Hollywood.

Her mother, Tina is originally from Louisiana, and her father, Matthew was from Alabama. There’s no doubt that Beyonce embraces both of their fiery spirits into one Texas-sized personality package. From a young girl, Beyonce was an entertainer, which is why her friends and teachers back home are not surprised that today she is one of the most iconic singers in the world.
