David Letterman isn’t really so popular amongst the younger generation, compared to the older generations. The former talk show host was born and raised in Indianapolis, which is the capital of Indiana. His father, Harry was a florist while his mother, Dorothy was a church secretary.

Letterman was enrolled at Ball State University, however, he was hardly able to attain a pass. Following that chapter in his life, Letterman headed west, where he moved to LA. This was all because he wanted to pursue his career in television, which obviously worked out well for him. Some of the other famous stars to come out of Indiana are, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Colonel Sanders, and James Dean.

Alaska – Jewel

To be fair, not that many people actually live in Alaska, so naturally, it would make sense that not many famous celebrities are born there. However, 46-year-old sing- songwriter is one of the very few representatives. Growing up in Anchorage, Alaska with her father, their lives were quite simple. Jewel’s family were even featured on an episode of Alaska: The Last Frontier.

A Stronger Woman

Jewel recalls her childhood and explains it to be quite an amazing experience in which she was exposed to the most beautiful nature that not everyone gets to experience in their lives. She remembers riding horses, fishing, and picking berries with her siblings. Jewel considers herself lucky as not many people get to live in a place that has been untouched by humans.
