In 2017, the show’s producers had to make a public apology for a picture. During “Southern Charm Week”, a photo of a plantation background was used. However, the image seemed to show some African American slaves. A producer said this: ”We regret the use of this background image, and we will be replacing it moving forward on any rebroadcast.”
