While Vanna did appear in playboy in 1987, she never actually posed for them. In 1982 before becoming the host of the popular TV show. White needed to pay the rent somehow so she posted for photos. Hugh Hefner purchased these photos, and she ended with a lawsuit against the magazine worth $5.2 million, and a second lawsuit against Hefner.

Another Lawsuit
Vannamania was created based on her large influence over young females. She went on to write an autobiography called Vanna Speaks, endorsed certain products, and created a Home Shopping Network and her own doll. White was trying to maintain her image and was concerned when she saw a giant ad featuring a robotic version of herself. She sued the company and actually won.
