He can no longer see the mother and the little kid as they go up a path in the park. But he knows this path leads nowhere; this is his chance to finally see and identify them! He walks as quickly as he can down the same path.

He sees the little kid and mother seated on a small bench once he’s around the corner and can view the entire path. He still has a long way to go, but he can see them well. He walks approaching them, and they glance at him. They appear to be happy and smile.
